Sweet Summer Time

Why is keeping up to date on a blog prove to be so challenging for me! Well here i am again trying to reach 6 months in the past to keep a record of all we have done! This summer we had some Friday the Thirteenth fun with some awesome friends! We did a haunted tour of Portland's Underground Tunnels. It was really cool and interesting but i am sad to say, no ghost interaction!
How cute are these two! Love them!
Sadly this summer both my Grandpa and Grandma Rodriguez passed away within a month of each other. I am so lucky to live so close to Tri-Cites. I was able to rush home and say goodbye to both before they passed away. We miss them dearly. Both of the services were beautiful and its always fun to see relatives and reconnect even under such sad circumstances.

This picture was taken at my Grandmothers funeral and is the last picture
of us and our Grandpa

My Grandma's Funeral landed on my 22nd Birthday and we somehow managed to fit in a Birthday cake. My family is the best I love them! Kari and Selena caught a flight back to Salt Lake from Portland so her, Selena, Collin and Mom all came down and spent the night! We took them to the Portland Zoo and it was so fun!

Allen and I managed to fit in some hiking from time to time which we love. Seriously the hikes here are just beyond amazing!

To end our summer of with a bang we headed down the Coast to Uncle Tom and Stephs in Newport. It was my first time Salmon fishing in the Ocean and it was so much fun! I experienced sea sickness for the first time but luckily it wasn't to bad!

Love this man!
My fisherman and his catch! Im so glad we were able to go twice this year since i know this guy loves it so much!

Washington D.C.

Back in July Allen and I had the opportunity to go back east for our one year anniversary/ 4th of July. It was a super busy week but we had so much fun. It helped that we had awesome travel companions (my parents)  As soon as we landed we started our task to see as much as possible while we were there!

The first day we tried to see all memorials we could. I learned fast that seeing the capital involved a ton of walking! Who would of thought, in the movies everything seems to be right next to each other!
We had the opportunity to go on a white house tour one day thanks to our amazing hosts that were able to pull some strings!! It was so neat and much grander then i could of ever imagined!

We spent the day at the capital on the 4th of July and enjoyed all the festivities! There was so many people  but we had a great time!! It was especially all worth it in the end when we got to watch the firework!

waiting for the fireworks to start

On one of our last days there we went to Carl's Soft Serve, which had the most amazing ice cream ever!

We are so glad we were able to go and couldn't ask for better hosts/ tour guides. Thanks so much Uncle Wayne and Aunt Dianne! We loved our time there!

Where does the time go?

Can you believe it? Where did all the time go? I still can't believe that over a year ago, i was sealed to the most amazing man! Time has seriously flown by and I could of never imagined how amazing life could be! I am so grateful for Allen and love him more and more everyday! He is so funny and always a blast to be around. To celebrate, we headed down to the Oregon Coast for the weekend before we left for the East Coast.
The first day we got their it was pouring! Allen was determined to still hit up the beach though
We happened to go during the kite festival which was super fun! The beach was just lined with all different kinds of kites! It was pretty amazing!
 Finally some sun!

We had a great time! It was nice to relax and just enjoy each other over the weekend! I feel so lucky to be able to spend everyday with my best friend!

Catching up!

Well things around the Liebing's home have been crazy lately with work and school! Allen is Finishing up his 7th Quarter and is starting to get burned out! Allen's Birthday was Memorial weekend and his only request was to go home to Washington! Before we could leave though, we had to help our Cub Scouts with flag placing at the Willamette National Cemetery.
This is a picture of just a small part of the cemetery. As soon as we got there to begin placing flags it started pouring!

This our entire Den. They are crazy but fun!
We then left for Washington! We love living so close to Tri-cities that we are able to go and visit pretty often! We celebrated this Handsome mans birthday while we were there! We went to Breakfast with his parents and then had a huge feast that night! It was amazing!
The big 27

While we were home my family gave allen is first Flea Market experience!! Im not sure what he thought of it but its always fun just to go and check it out!
Allen, Collin, Kendall and I waiting for some food
We then had to head back to Portland to our normal everyday routine!! I love our visits back home but they never seem like they are long enough!! As the weather is warming up here is Portland, Allen and I are trying to do more things to "experience" portland. So a couple weeks ago we went to the Portland Rose Garden. It was beautiful! I am not normally a big fan of roses but it was amazing just to see so many different varieties!

Leaving a Legacy- Grandpa Gibbons

A lot has happened since my last blog post. My grandfather, Reed Gibbons, passed away at the age of 88, on March 25, surrounded by family. He lived a long happy life and was the best grandfather anyone could ask for! I have many sweet memories of him, and feel so blessed to have been able to live next door to him my entire life. I am extremely grateful that i was able to be there when he passed away and for the time i was able to spend with him about a month before he passed. I was home visiting, and was able to spend quality time with him. I was able to take a walk down memory lane with him as he showed me pictures and told me stories that i will be able to cherish for the rest of my life.

Reed & Necia Gibbons on their Wedding day.  Grandma Necia passed away in 1990.

He Loved to Fish and Hunt
He loved his family and throughout his life showed me the importance of family through many different ways. He always hosted Sunday gatherings at the barn where almost all of my Aunts, Uncles and Cousins would come over Sunday evening to play and eat Grandmas Homemade bread and Jam!

Grandpa & Grandma Melba on my wedding day. He always tried to attend every major event in his grandchildren's lives as often as he could. There was not a Birthday nor Christmas forgotten of both his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
This is the last picture taken of him with all of his children and spouses minus my uncle wayne.
All his living Grandchildren were able to make it to his funeral from all over the country.  It was Amazing!
All the Grandchildren and their spouses

My Grandfather is dearly missed but i know he is having a great reunion with those that has passed before him.I am so grateful for his example to me and his strong testimony in the church. I look forward to the day when i will see him again. He has truly left a legacy on this earth with his 39 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren and counting and his love for each and everyone of them.
